Day 25: The Time That I Stole Suzy's Webkinz Stuff

Once upon a time, I was a little 6th grader. Middle school was weird. I remember being excited because I was a teenager, but I was just little kid and middle school is probably one of the hardest times of my life. That honestly may be true for everyone though. 😜

So back in 2007, there was this super fun website called Webkinz. You bought a Webkinz plush, which came with a code, which you would enter online and a virtual pet identical to your plush would unlock for you. No one was playing it so I was being sure to stay under the radar because no one played any virtual pet games and I did not want to be embarassed. Eventually, I made a friend named Suzy* in Mr. Bennett's 6th grade science class. Suzy and I got along great. We became a little close to the point until I found out that both of us played Webkinz! I was so happy and excited and later on, she gave me her username and we officially became Webkinz friends. About a week or so later, she gave me her password so that I could get on and take care of her pets because she had so darn many! (I only had two at the time.)

The first time I logged onto her account, I had no bad intentions. I went through her whole house and she just had so many cool things that I wanted but these items came with virtual pets, so even if I worked really hard, I couldn't get these items unless I bought the plush toys. This was an impossible task because a single plush toy's price started at $20 which is a ridiculous price for any toy to be honest and because my parents were not willing to pay that much for a toy that did not benefit me mentally or physically in any way.

ANYWAY. I told myself a few days later that Suzy would not notice if a few things went missing so I picked 3 items and sent them to myself. I did the same thing the next day and the next and the next... and the next.

Basically, Suzy noticed. I think I got away with more than 20 things that were exclusive to plush toys and their respective virtual counterparts. Suzy changed her Webkinz password as soon as she figured it out.

I no longer had a friend in Mr. Bennett's science class, but I was thebomb.com on Webkinz, and I was okay with that. 😅

The basic moral of this story would be that you should not steal your friend's Webkinz stuff and you definitely should not share your Webkinz password with anyone because you'll just end up losing a friend.

Love y'all,
